Associate in General Education
(Individually-Designed Degrees)

  This curriculum is designed for students who desire to pursue a two-year program for personal growth and development. It is not designed to serve as a degree for transfer.
  Both baccalaureate and vocational courses may be taken as a part of this program.
  Graduation requirements for the Associate in General Education degree are listed below. Review the course descriptions to determine which courses count toward the various requirements.

Associate in General Education Degree

I.General Education Requirements — (33 semester credit hours)
A.Communications — (6 semester credit hours)
  ENG 101 — (3 semester credit hours)
  SPE 120 — (3 semester credit hours)

B.Humanities — (9 semester credit hours)
  Art, Music, Philosophy,
  Literature, Foreign Language
  Creative Writing, Theatre,
  Interdisciplinary Humanities

C.Social Sciences — (9 semester credit hours)
  History, Political Science,
  Geography, Sociology,
  Psychology, Economics,
  Education, Interdisciplinary
  Studies

D.Science/Mathematics — (9 semester credit hours)
  Science —      (Must complete courses in both science
  Mathematics —   and mathematics for a total of 9 hours.)

II.Electives — (29 semester credit hours)
(May include both baccalaureate & vocational credits)

III.Other —
U.S./Illinois Constitution Requirement
GPA Required for Graduation — 2.0 on 4.0 scale
Residency Requirement — (Complete 15 semester credit hours at CSC)
