Registered Respiratory Therapy

The purpose of the Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) program is to prepare health care workers to perform a variety of respiratory therapy treatments and to meet the need for respiratory therapists in the community. Graduates will be able to initiate, conduct, or modify respiratory care techniques in emergency and non-emergency settings.

Graduates are eligible to take state licensure exams and the national certification exam for respiratory therapists. Upon successful completion of state and/or national certification exams, students become Registered Respiratory Therapists. Employment opportunities include hospitals, nursing homes, home health care agencies, and medical equipment supply companies.
