This program is designed for the individual who is a licensed cosmetologist in Illinois and who has two years or more of employment experience as a licensed cosmetologist within the last five years. A person who meets this licensure/experience requirement and who desires to become a cosmetology teacher in Illinois may apply for admission to this curriculum. The program is approved by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. An individual who satisfactorily completes this curriculum is eligible to apply to take the Illinois cosmetology teacher examination, satisfactory completion of which results in licensure as a cosmetology teacher.
