Oxy-Fuel Welding

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Oxy-Fuel Welding certificate is an approved program for Sandburg; however, we are not enrolling new students while we review program updates to offer the best educational opportunities for our students. The American Welding Society Level 1 Certificate may be of interest to you. Please contact the Welcome Center at 309.345.3500 or or your advisor for more information.

The Oxy-Fuel Welding Certificate program is designed to enable the graduate to succeed in employment as a welder in the industry. The graduate will be proficient in oxy-acetylene welding and cutting, arc welding, and reading blueprints. Students receive various levels of welding proficiency after successfully completing tests that measure their welding skills.

Admission Requirements

Oxy-Fuel Welding certificate is an open enrollment program, meaning there are no criteria students must meet to be admitted. Students who are interested in enrolling in this program should complete our steps to enroll, which includes completing the free application for admission.

We encourage all prospective students to visit campus. We have several Explore Sandburg Open Houses throughout the year, or you can schedule a campus visit at your convenience.
