COMMUNITY AND EXTENSION SERVICES of Carl Sandburg College provide both on-campus and off-campus (outreach) programming to serve: business and industry, outlying communities, special interest groups, and special needs groups. Each year approximately 7,500 individuals and 80 companies are served by the Community and Extension Offices. Services range from
1) human resource development through needs assessments, short- and long-term classes, credit and non-credit classes, workshops, seminars and special needs training to
2) economic development through company start-ups, expansion, training assistance and grant writing assistance to
3) community enrichment through special interest classes for fun and enjoyment, including special programs for senior citizens.
It is the goal of Carl Sandburg College through the Community and Extension Services division to act as a learning resource for individuals, organizations, agencies and businesses. Responsive programming is developed to build a more effective, dynamic community.
