Admission to AA/AS/AFA Programs
(Baccalaurate Transfer)
  Students enrolling in the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or Associate in Fine Arts degree programs (baccalaureate transfer) must have completed the following college preparatory courses as outlined in the Illinois Public Act 86-0954:

  Students who have not fulfilled these requirements when they initially enroll at Carl Sandburg College will be admitted on a provisional basis to the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or Associate in Fine Arts degree program. Carl Sandburg College will incorporate in those students' curriculum courses to compensate for course deficiencies.

  College preparatory course requirements for admission to the AA/AS/AFA degree programs as outlined above will be waived for students who have completed 32 semester hours of college coursework (100 level or above) with grades of "C" or better.

Readmission
  Students who have previously attended Carl Sandburg College and want to return after an absence of one semester or more must notify the Admissions and Records Office of any changes in name, address, phone number, academic program, etc. Some academic programs have special readmission policies and procedures

Western Illinois Education Consortium (WIEC)
  The Western Illinois Education Consortium (WIEC) is a coalition of educators, health-related organizations, public service units, government, and private business whose purpose is to improve access of educational opportunities to citizens of western Illinois that will enhance quality of life and economic competitiveness in a global economy. Classes are offered intra-campus, inter-campus, inter-consortia, and statewide. Interactive distance learning is a classroom environment using simultaneous two-way interactive audio and video between people and two or more locations.

  Member institutions include Black Hawk College, Carl Sandburg College, CONVOCOM, Quad Cities Graduate Study Center, Highland Community College, John Wood Community College, Sauk Valley Community College, Spoon River College, and Western Illinois University. Dual Admission
  Carl Sandburg College and Western Illinois University have a dual admission program that gives students the opportunity to gain admission to both institutions at the same time. This allows students to take advantage of the low tuition rates at both institutions. For detailed information, please contact the Admissions Office.

Joint Admission Agreements with
Knox College and Monmouth College
  Carl Sandburg College has Joint Admission Agreements with Knox College and Monmouth College that would guarantee admission to students who have followed the appropriate guidelines and received an Associate in Arts degree or Associate in Science degree from Carl Sandburg College. llinois Articulation Initiative (IAI)
  Carl Sandburg College is a participant in the Illinois Articulation Initiative. The General Education Core Curriculum was incorporated into the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees effective Summer 1998. For further information about IAI, go to the Web site at
