Renewing your financial aid annually

Each year you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for federal and/or state financial aid.

Calculation of your eligibility for financial aid is based upon the income and asset information provided by you and your family on your FAFSA.

If your family situation changes, your financial aid award may also change the next year you apply for financial aid. Examples of changes in family situation include:

  • Your family's income increases or decreases
  • Your family's assets increase or decrease
  • Another sibling enters or leaves college
  • Change in marital status

Work study
If you currently have a work-study position and would like to continue working the next year, you need to secure that position with your supervisor before leaving for summer break. You also need to complete the FAFSA for the new school year.
