The CSC TRIO SSS program is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The total dollars received in 2007 - 2008 for the consortium grant is $338,569.

The CSC TRIO SSS program is funded 100% by the grant.

The CSC TRIO Student Support Services grant is in cooperation with Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. SCC and CSC have a cooperative agreement, which allows for students in both districts flexibility in choosing the best institution to fulfill their needs.

TRIO Student Support Services program
  We are a federally funded program that provides academic support services to students who are first generation college students, are United States citizens or permanent residents, and are considered income eligible based on the federal income guidelines.
The Carl Sandburg College TRIO Student Support Services program began in 1997 through a grant from the United States Department of Education.

The purpose of the TRIO Student Support Services program is:
-To increase college retention and graduation rates for eligible students
-To increase the transfer rates of eligible students from 2 to 4-year institutions
-To foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of income eligible and first generation college students and individuals with disabilities
