LPN - RN Articulation

LPN - RN Articulation

The purpose of the LPN to ADN Articulation plan is to facilitate the educational progression of LPN’s through the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Program. Articulation recognizes a common core of knowledge and psychomotor skills existent within each nursing program. Articulation establishes a mechanism for the practical nurse to achieve educational mobility. The LPN to ADN Articulation plan is a cooperative effort between the programs in response to continuing education and the response to the increased needs for registered nurses.

The Articulation plan provides qualified LPN’s a pre/summer or summer LPN Transition Course (NAD 180) of 3.0 credit hours. The LPN Transition Course:
  • Validates prior learning
  • Updates and enhances student’s knowledge
  • Begins the process of role transition
  • Prepares students for placement in the RN program
Students must successfully pass the transition course to be eligible to apply for admission to the 2nd year of the Associate Degree Nursing Program. (Good for two (2) years)
