NOTE: Students enrolled in the Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program must complete all DMC, DMS and RDT courses with a grade of “C” or better in order to be eligible to register for subsequent courses. In order to graduate, students must complete all required courses with a grade of “C” or better.

 

As a student accepted into the Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program at Carl Sandburg College you are required to complete the following prior to the start of your program. If this information is not on file you will be unable to begin the clinical portion of your program.

  • CPR certification The only cards that are acceptable are American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer. The same card must be valid for the entire length of the program. Cards that expire before the program is complete will not be accepted. You may register for a CPR course when registering for your program courses. Cards will be collected on first day of class.
  • Physical Examination (Depending upon your clinical assignment, this may include a 10-panel drug screening)
  • Criminal Background Check
