GALESBURG—Genny Stevens, coordinator of student life at Carl Sandburg College, recently was named the central region coordinator for the Illinois Community College Student Activities Association.

GALESBURG—Leah Pence of Illini West High School has signed to play next season with the Carl Sandburg College softball team. Pence, a 5-foot-11 third baseman, helped the Chargers to a 22-8 record last spring during her senior season.
 

Pence joins a Chargers squad that finished 29-23 overall and 12-8 in the Arrowhead Conference in 2013. Sandburg at one point won 16 of 17 games and reached as high as No. 20 in the NJCAA Division II rankings.

GALESBURG—Former Carl Sandburg College men's golfer Cody Reiber won the 2013 Galesburg Men's All-City golf tournament title by shooting a 4-over-par 76 on Sunday at Soangetaha Country Club to claim the championship by four strokes. GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College recently received a $10,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to support the Carl Sandburg College Literacy Coalition.
