GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College hired three employees following approval by the Board of Trustees at its regular monthly meeting held in February. Stacey Rucker was hired as resource development specialist, and Nicky Smith was hired as student information assistant. Michael O’Connell was hired as administrative assistant for TRIO Upward Bound and the Testing Center. All three will be employed at the Main Campus in Galesburg.

GALESBURG—Nearly 400 area high school sophomores and juniors will participate in the 2013 Carl Sandburg College Career Fair from 10 a.m. to noon March 15 on the Main Campus in Galesburg, 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd.

GALESBURG—Stark County High School senior Danielle Kenney has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College women’s golf and softball teams.
 

An outfielder for the Rebels’ softball team, Kenney earned first-team all-Lincoln Trail Conference honors as a junior. The 5-foot-2 Kenney qualified last fall for the girls golf Class 1A state tournament, tying for 54th at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur.

GALESBURG—Limestone High School senior Megan Hobson has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College softball team.

 

Hobson, a 5-foot pitcher, went 7-9 with a 3.51 ERA in the circle for the Rockets as a junior. She struck out 45 and walked 25 in 91 2/3 innings and helped lead Limestone to a 22-17 record and Class 3A regional title, the Rockets’ first since 2009.
