The Illinois Retired Teacher's Association (IRTA) Foundation Scholarship will be offering a $1,500 scholarship to one full-time student for the 2013-2014 academic year for each IRTA Foundation area. The scholarship will be divided in two, $750 will be awarded in the Fall and $750 in the Spring, and is to be used for educational expenses. The recipient must be accepted into a Teacher Certification Program, must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and be an Illinois resident or have graduated from an Illinois high school. Applicants must complete the scholarship application, compose a one-page letter about their educational intent and special family circumstances, three (3) letters of recommendation from persons other than family members, and transcripts from all colleges the applicant has attended and/or the college currently attending.

CEO.com is offering a $2,500 scholarship to a student interested in business leadership and/or entrepreneurship. Applicants must be 18 years or older at time of application, plan to be enrolled at a four-year accredited college or university in August 2013, and a legal U.S. citizen.
To apply, students must compose an essay of 500-1000 words addressing the following topic: "If you could change anything about the American education system what would it be?" Essays are judged by creativity, specificity, and basic grammar. The Illinois Community College Faculty Association will be awarding up to six (6) $1,000 scholarships to students attending Illinois community colleges during the 2012-2013 academic year. Applicants must be full-time students during both the Spring 2012 and Fall 2012 semesters at an Illinois community college, with verified transcripts for the Spring 2012 semester and a copy of Fall 2012 registration. Applicants must also have completed 30 semester hours by the end of Spring 2012 with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and verified on the official transcript sent in at the completion of the Spring 2012 semester. Proof of Illinois residency must be provided with either a photocopy of the driver's license or similar document. A brief essay is required describing academic and personal goals, and any unpaid, voluntary community service and campus activities. Applications must also contain a letter of recommendation on official college letterhead from a community college faculty member. The letter should address the candidate's academic achievement, character, and ability to meet his/her goals. A document including the applicant's complete mailing address, telephone number, Social Security number, and signature must also be attached with the application materials.

The QC Pride Scholarship of $1,000, provided by QC Pride, Inc., will be awarded to a college student who demonstrates both academic achievement and leadership as members, friends and allies of the GLBT community. The recipient will be selected by May 15, 2012 and is required to appear in the 2012 QC Pride Fest on June 3rd for the award ceremony. The Illinois Masonic Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite will be accepting applications for the Louis L. Williams Scholarship. The student may pursue any course of study. The student must attend Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. The student must also be a resident of Illinois, be an undergraduate attending an accredited college or university, and earn at least a 3.0 GPA. Masonic relationship is required, meaning the student must have a father, grandfather, brother, or uncle who is (or was, if deceased) a member in good standing of an Illinois Scottish Rite Valley.
Applicants must complete the scholarship application form, which includes enclosing official school transcripts, one personal and one professional letter of recommendation, and an essay. The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau Foundation will be offering agricultural scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year. The student must be a high school graduate or graduating in 2012; be accepted for enrollment or continuing enrollment in an accredited college, university, or community college that offers agricultural courses; be majoring or minoring in agriculture or agribusiness; be a resident of Illinois; and the student, the student's parents, or the student's spouse must be a member in good standing of the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau. The Knox County Soil and Water Conservation District will be offering a $500 scholarship to students enrolled or planning to enroll in Agriculture or Environment related program at an Illinois college (2yr. or 4yr. college). WQPT will be offering a $500 Broadcast Scholarship to a student pursuing a career in broadcasting. The award can be applied to tuition, books, and fees for the Summer or Fall of 2011. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, any broadcasting classes taken must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA (not applicable to incoming college freshmen). Preference will be given to full-time students, although part-time students are encouraged to apply. Applications must include a copy of the verification of acceptance to the school, copies of most current transcripts, an essay or personal statement at least 250 words but no more than 350 words that is signed and dated, and one letter of recommendation from a professional who has knowledge of your career plans/goals (i.e. professor, employer, counselor, faith leader, etc.)

The Illinois Community College Faculty Association will be awarding up to six (6) $1,000 scholarships to students attending Illinois community colleges during the 2011-2012 academic year. Applicants must be full-time students during both the Spring 2011 and Fall 2011 semesters at an Illinois community college, with verified transcripts for the Spring 2011 semester and a copy of Fall 2011 registration. Applicants must also have completed 30 semester hours by the end of Spring 2011 with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and verified on the official transcript sent in at the completion of the Spring 2011 semester. Proof of Illinois residency must be provided with either a photocopy of the driver's license or similar document. A brief essay is required describing academic and personal goals, and any unpaid, voluntary community service and campus activities. Applications must also contain a letter of recommendation on official college letterhead from a community college faculty member. The letter should address the candidate's academic achievement, character, and ability to meet his/her goals. A document including the applicant's complete mailing address, telephone number, Social Security number, and signature must also be attached with the application materials.

The WIRC-CAA is offering $1,500 scholarships to assist lower income individuals continue their education in areas of study with high employability potential. All scholarships will be available on a region-wide basis to individuals in Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, and Warren counties. An individual may not receive a WIRC-CAA scholarship more than two times. A non-traditional student is defined as an individual 26 years of age or over, or an individual with one or more dependents.
Scholarship applicant must meet all of the following criteria: (1) resident of Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, or Warren county; (2) Member of an income eligible household (at or below 125% of the 2010 poverty guidelines - see application for guideline); (3) Possess a high school diploma, GED, or must graduate by July 1, 2011 from an accredited high school of GED administering institution; (4) Must be accepted into an Illinois college or university, community college, or occupational training program on at least half time basis; (5) Demonstrate a commitment to civic and public affairs; and (6) Demonstrate goals and purpose commitment.

This scholarship was established in honor of Helen H. Wetherbee to aid and encourage young men and women pursuing a career in nursing. Consideration is limited to students who have been accepted into a school of nursing. Pre-nursing students are not eligible until they are accepted into nursing school. Colleges or universities attended must be accredited or recognized as an approved program by the appropriate agencies. **Applicants enrolled in an associate degree or hospital-based program WILL BE considered.
