College for Seniors is a life-long learning program under the Business and Community Education Department at Carl Sandburg College. The CSC College for Seniors program has been developing lifelong learning opportunities since 1994 with the guidance and dedication of a Senior Advisory Board.
Every year nearly 1000 people, age 50 and over, participate to either revisit an old interest, or develop a new one, or maybe just to be around like-minded people with a passion for learning. Learning opportunities are offered in two ways- classes or trips.
Classes cover all sorts of topics and disciplines, and are
presented by CSC faculty, members of the community, or speakers from
various organizations. Classes are offered in a comfortable and
convenient setting in Building G (on the east side of the main campus)
unless another location is specified. And don’t worry…homework and
grades are not allowed!
Trips are generally behind-the-scenes tours, cultural adventures
or historical destinations. Trips depart from Sandburg Mall on the CSC
shuttles for local trips or a motor coach for regional trips. Trips
generally fill up fast, so if there is something of interest, don’t
delay!
