Returning by popular demand! Join us for one of our favorite destination spots - Anderson Japanese Gardens. We last visited the Gardens during springtime. This day trip gives us the opportunity to see what fall brings to one of America’s most authentic Japanese gardens. Built in 1978, the Gardens contain 12 acres of beautiful landscape featuring waterfalls and lush foliage. An Anderson staff guide will lead you through the peaceful pathways where you will be inspired by calmness and feel rejuvenated. After our tour, we will dine on property at Fresco at the Gardens. You may order from their breakfast or lunch menu. Enjoy food that is fresh, organic and locally grown. We will then tour Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum & Gardens - one of only a handful of Swiss-style homes remaining in America. A stop at Curran’s Orchard concludes the day. For this educational day trip, we will be walking long distances and some of the terrain is uneven. Please wear comfortable walking shoes with good tread. Lunch and shopping expenses are at your own cost. Planned arrival time is 10:30 a.m., we will depart at 4:00 p.m. Space is limited, minimum of 10 required. Registration required by Tuesday, October 17. No cancellations past 10/17/17 however, a substitute can attend. Shuttle bus departs from Carl Sandburg College’s Center for Manufacturing Excellence, 2051 Tom L. Wilson Blvd., Galesburg.
