Career, Technical and Health Education


The Dental Hygiene program has been approved by the Illinois Community College Board and the Illinois Board of Higher Education. The program in dental hygiene is accredited by the American Dental Association and the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements”. The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The Commission on Dental Accreditation can be contacted at  312-440-4653 , or at 211 E. Graduates from the Dental Hygiene program will be eligible to take the National Dental Hygiene Board Examination, the respective clinical dental hygiene board examination, and the examination for registration as a dental hygienist in the respective state.


The Mortuary Science program is accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education, 3432 Ashland Avenue, Suite G, St. Joseph, MO 64506, 816 / 233-3747. The annual passage rate of first-time takers on the National Board Examination (NBE) for the most recent three-year period for this institution and all ABFSE accredited funeral service education programs is posted on the ABFSE web site (
