MOLINE—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team picked up its third straight win and evened its Arrowhead Conference record with a 69-31 victory at Black Hawk on Thursday night.

The Chargers (11-10, 4-4) had 10 players score and were led by sophomore forward Destini Bollinger (Astoria, Ill./Astoria) who had 13 points. Sophomore guard Paige Martin (Farmington, Ill./Farmington) scored a season-high 11 and freshman forward Sadee Hamilton (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) added 10 points for Sandburg.

The Chargers led 32-8 at halftime and posted their largest margin of victory this season.

“We played solidly from an execution standpoint and had pretty good intensity,” Sandburg coach Mike Bailey said. “When the score kind of got away from Black Hawk, I thought our kids stayed focused and continued to play hard. If we would’ve converted layups I would consider it a really good effort. Our bench got a lot of minutes, which was nice for everyone to contribute.”

The Chargers will go for their fourth straight win when they travel to face South Suburban at 1 p.m. Saturday in nonconference play.
