Chargers Close Regular Season With Loss at Kishwaukee

MALTA—The Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team ended the regular season with an 85-62 Arrowhead Conference loss Saturday at Kishwaukee.


The Chargers (19-11, 6-6) trailed 41-30 at halftime and shot 27 percent for the contest while the Kougars shot 65 percent from the floor.


Sophomore guard Seth Wickert (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) scored a team-leading 14 points and was one of four Chargers in double figures. Sophomore guard Zach Grover (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) scored 12, freshman guard Anthony Misuraca (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) added 11 and freshman guard Juwan Hubbard (Rockford, Ill./Guilford) chipped in 10 points for Sandburg.


Harold Ridgeway had game highs of 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Kougars.


Sandburg is the No. 4 seed in the Region IV tournament and will open play by hosting fifth-seeded Black Hawk in the quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.
