GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College received two merit awards in the 28th annual Educational Advertising Awards presented by “Higher Education Marketing Report.”
Sandburg was honored in the Website category for its website, www.sandburg.edu, and the Social Media category for its Facebook page, www.facebook.com/carlsandburgcollege. Sandburg was judged against schools with enrollments of 2,000 to 4,999 students, and it was one of 11 Illinois community colleges to receive an award.
Sandburg’s website, which launched a new design last July, provides prospective students, current students, alumni and the general public information about the College, including the latest news, a calendar of events, program information and an online application. Sandburg’s Facebook page offers photos and videos of College events and provides reminders about campus events and important dates.
More than 1,000 public and private two- and four-year institutions from all 50 states and several foreign countries submitted nearly 3,000 entries for this year’s Educational Advertising Awards. Judges for the awards consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of “Higher Education Marketing Report.”
