Personal Information

Teaching Philosophy / Personal Statement:
Teaching is an art and a science. The main goal of teaching adult learners is to engage their enthusiasm for learning and help them identify what they are passionate about understanding. When students can identify what they are passionate about, teaching and learning become a dynamic and joyful experience for all participants.


Degrees Earned:
B.A. in Anthropology/Sociology, Knox College 1978,
Associate Degree in Nursing, Carl Sandburg College, 1987,
M.S. in Nursing, University of Illinois at Chicago, 1993. 
Primary Care Provider from Indiana Wesleyan University, 2016, ANCC Board Certified, Family Nurse Practitioner, 2016

I volunteer for a medical mission in Haiti with the organization “Friend of the Children of Haiti.”

I also enjoy the local arts organization. Currently I am president of Nova Singers, a local professional choral ensemble.

I especially enjoy participating in Medical Missions in Haiti.
