Personal Information
A Professor at Carl Sandburg College since 1982, Mary presently teaches Health and Physical Education. Born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois, Mary attended and graduated from Illinois State University in 1974. Immediately she began teaching for the Galesburg School District where she taught Physical Education at Lombard Junior High and coached Volleyball, Basketball, Track, and Golf for the school district.

Favorite Activities:

Golf, walking, technology, quilting/embroidering, and gardening.

Highlighted Accomplishments:
  • 1982-1987 - Coached Volleyball at CSC. Conference Champs and most Valuable Conference Coach every year and was State runner-up 3 out of six years.
  • 1984 - Opened CSC fitness center. Mary was responsible for fundraising, designing, and implementing the Fitness Center.
  • 1990 – 2000 - Initiated and Chaired CSC's Wellness Employee Program.
  • 1999 – Helped initiate online instruction and began teaching my first Health Course online.
    ASEP (American Sport Education Program) Instructor Certification.
  • 2001 - WebCT Certified Trainer; Presented at the WebCT Conference in Vancouver, Canada and at the Illinois Online Network conference in Champaign, Illinois. Technology Trainer at CSC
  • 2002 - The American Sport Education Program (ASEP) Course called Coaching Principles Online was selected as an Exemplary Course at the International WebCT Conference in Boston, Mass. It was one of eight courses showcased at the conference.
  • 2003 - Keynote Speaker at ION Summer Institute for Community College Faculty entitled “The Road to Exemplary Success.”; Presented Palm Handheld demonstration to Physical Education Majors at Western Illinois University Students.
  • 2004 – Key Presenter at the ION Summer Institute; Presented Palm Handheld demonstration to Physical Education Majors at Western Illinois University Students
    Presently – Professor of Health/Physical Education and Co-Chair of Instructional Technology Committee
  • Currently - Serving on the Illinois Women's State Amateur Golf Board.
