Carl Sandburg College is committed to helping our students complete their college education. The College provides more than 300 scholarships annually and assists students in receiving federal, state and institutional financial aid to help them meet their educational costs.
Since 1971, more than 9,000 students have received financial assistance from Carl Sandburg College Foundation to attend Carl Sandburg College. The Foundation provides numerous academic, program-specific, general and need-based scholarships to Sandburg students. All scholarship awards are based on individual scholarship guidelines. Scholarship recipients must have a minimum 2.0 GPA in order to apply for a scholarship, and higher GPA standards are required for some scholarships. The majority of scholarships require that the recipient also be a full-time student. Applications are due by February 15 for the coming academic year.
The Carl Sandburg College Foundation scholarship application process is paperless and completely online. Paper applications will no longer be accepted unless a special application is required per scholarship requirements. To access the scholarship application website, click on the link below.
STARS Scholarship Application process is open from November 1st until February 15th each academic year, allowing students to apply for scholarships to be awarded the Fall of the following academic year. All completed scholarship applications must be submitted by February 15th. Visit STARS.sandburg.edu to complete scholarship applications.
The Financial Aid Office assists students in applying for federal, state and institutional funds to help them meet their educational costs. Most of the funding is based on the family's financial situation; therefore, the student must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility.
The Financial Aid Office is not allowed to discuss financial aid information with anyone other than you, the student. If you want the Financial Aid Office staff to be able to discuss your financial aid information with your parent(s), spouse or any other person(s), please complete the Information Release Form.
