Being able to explore different areas of interest has been a big advantage of being at Carl Sandburg College for Jason Reno.

Reno began studying business and switched to computer science before ultimately concentrating on graphic design.

“I talked to CSC instructors and other students about the graphic design career which made me want to pursue that instead,” said Reno.

Reno is able to expand his graphic design skills through the talent grant he was offered through the marketing and public relations office at CSC. He regularly puts his skills to work by producing and editing videos that are shown on CSC’s channel 22 and YouTube channel.

But there are other reasons CSC is a good fit for him.

“I eventually want to transfer to a four-year university after I finish at CSC and the classes I take here will help me prepare for that transition,” says Reno. “I like the atmosphere here because it’s small but not too small. The instructors are all down to earth and easy to talk to.”
