Background Information
1974 - 1982 Taught 7th - 9th grades and coached volleyball, basketball, softball, and track and field in Galesburg Community Unit School District 205.
1982-Present Instructor of Health/Physical Education and Technology Trainer at CSC.
1982-1987 Coached Volleyball at CSC. Was Conference Champs and most Valuable Conference Coach every year and was state runner up 3 out of six years.
1984 Opened CSC fitness center. Was responsible for fundraising, designing, and implementing the whole program.
1990 Initiated and Chaired CSC's Wellness Employee Program.
1997-2000 NAGWS Volleyball Official.
1999 Taught Health 120 Online for the first time. Became a certified ASEP Instructor.
2000 Taught Foundations of Physical Education and Sport online for the first time. Helped developed an Online Tutorial for Online Students. Became part of a team for the Sandburg Educational Network (SEN), a K-12 initiative for our college district.
K-12 schools that offers technology training and support for their teachers.
2001 WebCT Certified Trainer; Launched the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) Coaching Principles Online; Presented at the WebCT Conference in Vancouver, Canada and at the Illinois Online Network conference in Champaign, Illinois.
2002 Palm Handheld Certified Trainer (PETC); Presented at the Illinois Online Network Summer Institute in Champaign, Illinois.
The American Sport Education Program (ASEP) Course called Coaching Principles Online was selected as an Exemplary Course at the International WebCT Conference in Boston, Mass. It was one of eight courses showcased at the conference.
2003 Master Online Teacher from Illinois Online and the University of Illinois. Keynote Speaker at ION Summer Institute for Community College Faculty entitled “The Road to Exemplary Success.”; Presented Palm Handheld demonstration to Physical Education Majors at Western Illinois University Students.
2004 Presentor at the ION Summer Institute; Re-Certified for PalmOne Handheld Education Trainer; Presented Palm Handheld demonstration to Physical Education Majors at Western Illinois University Students; ASEP (American Sport Education Program) re-certified online.
2003-Present Currently I teach the Physical Education and Health Classes how to use technology to enhance their learning experiences.
