Registration Available for 12-Week ESL Course at Sandburg

Carl Sandburg College’s Corporate and Leisure College is offering a 12-week English as a Second Language (ESL) course from April 6-June 22.
 

The class, Conversational English as a Second Language for Beginner and Intermediate Levels, will meet from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays in the Center for Manufacturing Excellence (CME) on Sandburg’s Main Campus in Galesburg, 2051 Tom L. Wilson Blvd. The class is limited to 16 students and costs $60, which includes a textbook.
 

This course is for adults whose native language is not English. Students will be given instruction and practice in speaking, writing and reading in English. Topics will include social interactions, employment, health, banking, housing, schooling and other related topics to improve students’ confidence in daily activities. Instructor Rose Ann Van Acker has taught seven years of language arts, including a previous ESL course at Sandburg.
