Carl Sandburg College softball players Chelsea Lesniewski (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) and Zoe Wetherell (Washington, Ill./Washington) have been named to the All-Region IV Division II District B second team for their play for the Chargers this spring.

Lesniewski, a sophomore corner infielder, was named All-Region for the second year in a row, and she was also a two-time All-Region IV pick in volleyball with the Chargers. Lesniewski played in 37 games, leading the Chargers in hits (45) and doubles (12). She finished second to Wetherell for the team lead in batting average (.369), slugging percentage (.533), OPS (.937) and home runs (two). She was also second among Chargers in RBIs (29) while finishing third on the team in on-base percentage (.405) and runs scored (22).

Wetherell, a sophomore first baseman, was limited to 76 plate appearances over 23 games because of a midseason leg injury, but she did plenty of damage when in the lineup. She led Sandburg in average (.420), on-base percentage (.461), slugging (.667), OPS (1.127) and homers (four), with all her home runs coming in her final nine games. Despite her missed time, Wetherell finished fourth on the team in RBIs (17), fifth in doubles (five) and tied for fifth in hits (29).
