Sandburg XC Competes at WIU Early Bird

The Carl Sandburg College cross country team competed in the WIU Early Bird Invite on Friday evening at Spring Lake Park.

In the 4-kilometer women’s race, freshman Samantha Davidson (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) crossed the line in 21 minutes, 49.3 seconds, good for 72^nd place.

On the men’s side, sophomore Brennan Foley (Galva, Ill./Galva) finished the 6K course in 22:37.2 for 47^th place. Sophomore Sebastian Arteaga (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) was 55^th, with a time of 24:34.1.

The Chargers’ next race is the Olivet Nazarene Midwest Classic on Friday in Bourbonnais. The women’s race begins at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s race at 5:45 p.m.
