Dunlap’s Barrington, IVC’s Wilmington Sign With Sandburg Softball

Rachel Barrington of Dunlap High School and Grace Wilmington of Illinois Valley Central High School have signed to play for the Carl Sandburg College softball team.

Barrington, senior a pitcher/first baseman, was a Class 3A third-team all-state pick by the Illinois Coaches Association as a junior last spring with the Eagles. She also was a second-team All-Mid-Illini Conference selection during her sophomore and junior seasons.

Wilmington, a senior second baseman/third baseman, batted .320 and led the Grey Ghosts in on-base percentage, hits, doubles and RBIs as a junior. She also led her travel team, the Central Illinois Cyclones, in average, RBIs and doubles last summer. Wilmington earned All-Corn Belt Conference honorable mentions each of the last two seasons with the Grey Ghosts.
