ROCK ISLAND — Sophomore Averi Heintzelman (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) shot a career-best 87 on Sunday and led the Carl Sandburg College women’s golf team in the Augustana Highland Classic this weekend at Highland Springs.
Heintzelman followed her first-round 92 on Saturday with her best round as a Charger, finishing tied for 40th in a 70-player field that was largely made up of NCAA Division III and NAIA teams.
Freshman Anna Duden (Gifford, Ill./Armstrong) finished at 195 for the tournament to tie for 53rd. Freshman Olivia Schwingle (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) carded a first-round 99 and finished 62nd with a 210 total
