Sandburg announces 2024 summer session graduates

GALESBURG — Illinois College JV held on to defeat the Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team 67-59 on Tuesday night at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENT
The Chargers (1-7) took a 24-22 lead behind a 9-0 run to start the second quarter. Mackenzie Springsteen (Sperry, Iowa/Mediapolis) opened the stretch with a pull-up jumper, and Emily Cash (Yates City, Ill./Farmington) followed with a layup, a 3-pointer and a short jumper in the lane. The Lady Blues, though, answered with a 9-0 run of their own to go up 31-24 and never trailed again.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Cash scored a season-best nine points off the bench on 4-of-5 shooting and added six rebounds.
