MALTA — Sophomore Addison Eger (Mendon, Ill./Unity) returned from a five-game absence to lead the Chargers in scoring, but the Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team lost 91-60 at Kishwaukee on Thursday night.
Eger had been out since Dec. 14 because of a combination of injury, health and safety protocols and class schedule conflicts, but she came back to score 18 points, grab nine rebounds (four offensive) and pick up four steals.
The Chargers had two other players who just missed recording a double-double. Emily Cash (Yates City, Ill./Farmington) had 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench, and Natalie Righi (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) scored nine and pulled in a team-leading 11 rebounds. Righi also had four blocks on the night.
Kelsi Legge (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) added 14 points, six boards and three assists for Sandburg (2-14 overall, 0-3 Arrowhead Conference), which was without head coach McKenna Weaver because of health and safety protocols.
