Members of the Sandburg volleyball and cross country teams were recognized at Thursday's board of trustees meeting for their award-winning fall seasons.
Volleyball won the Region 4 tournament title, advanced to the NJCAA Division II Championship for the fourth time since 2017 and reached the Sweet 16 as the Chargers won the program's first match ever at nationals.
The women’s cross country team won the Arrowhead Conference championship, was runner-up at the Region 4 Championships and qualified for the NJCAA Division II Championship, where it placed 22nd.
Additionally, two members of the men’s cross country team — Titus Kimuati and Mathias Kiprotich — qualified for nationals as individuals.
