Part of the nursing program experience is putting yourself in your patient's shoes.
Last week, first-year students in the associate degree nursing program worked through an ostomy unit that included an exercise in which students wore an ostomy pouch for 24 hours. They then recapped the experience through class discussion and a written assignment. The pouches were filled with chocolate pudding and applied using adhesive.
