46 Chargers Named Academic All-Arrowhead Conference

Forty-six Carl Sandburg College student-athletes earned Academic All-Arrowhead Conference honors for their performances in the classroom during the 2016-2017 academic year.

All 10 Chargers teams had at least one player earn academic all-conference honors, with men’s soccer’s 11 recipients the most of any squad. Student-athletes must have earned at least a 3.0 grade point average and passed a minimum of 24 credit hour during the academic year to qualify.

Seven athletes — freshmen Emma Derry (Augusta, Ill./Southeastern), Grace Ferguson (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville), Lexi Strange (Emden, Ill./Hartsburg-Emden), MacKenzie Widmer (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone) and Helena Wyant (Toulon, Ill./Stark County) as well as sophomores Kelsie French (Camanche, Iowa/Camanche) and Morgan Rupert (Knoxville, Ill./Knoxville) — participated in multiple sports. In addition, 16 Chargers sophomores earned academic all-conference honors each of the past two years.
