Carl Sandburg College softball player Zoe Wetherell (Washington, Ill./Washington) has been named to the All-Arrowhead Conference team for her play for the Chargers this spring.

Wetherell, a sophomore first baseman, earned the honor despite playing in just eight of the Chargers’ 14 conference games and making only 29 plate appearances against league foes because of a leg injury. When in the lineup, however, she did plenty of damage.

In conference games, Wetherell hit a team-leading .607 (17 for 28), and she also led the Chargers in on-base percentage (.607), slugging (.1.143), OPS (1.764) and home runs (four). Wetherell’s 17 hits were second on the team, and her three doubles in league play tied for second on the squad. She was third among Chargers in RBIs (10) and tied for third in runs (eight) against conference opponents.

Overall this season, Wetherell, who was named to the All-Region IV team earlier this month, batted .420 with four homers and 17 RBIs in 76 plate appearances.
