Behrens Establishes $10K Endowment for Annual Fund Challenge

Joy K. Behrens of Galesburg has established a new $10,000 endowment with the Carl Sandburg College Foundation to benefit its Annual Fund. This donation puts the Foundation one step closer toward reaching its goal of raising $100,000 for the Annual Fund Challenge.

The Annual Fund Challenge kicked off last September with Foundation Board member Andrea Vitale making a $5,000 contribution to the Annual Fund, and she pledged to donate an additional $5,000 if $100,000 was raised by Sept. 30, 2017.

The Annual Fund assists with and addresses various needs throughout the College such as mini-grants for faculty and staff; emergency funds for students in need through loans and grants; scholarship funds; and other projects that enable the College to continue its mission of providing all students with opportunities for success.
