Dantas' 2 Goals, Assist Leads Chargers' Blowout of Kennedy-King

CHICAGO, IL

The Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team erupted for four second-half goals en route to a 5-0 shutout of Kennedy-King on Thursday.

Sandburg (4-7-1, 4-3-1 Region IV) took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a goal by Victor Dantas off an assist from Daniel Freedman. Dantas added another goal in the second half behind an assist from Jacques Basoka Mubenga, and Dantas assisted Guillaume Rosales on his first goal of the season.

Joel Espinoza (from Matteo Troiani) and Norman Cardenas Luna (from Freedman) also recorded their first goals of the year in the victory.

George Mutimer got the start in net and combined with Michael Vega to keep a clean sheet, the Chargers’ second of the year.

The Chargers will return home to host Hawkeye (Iowa) at 4 p.m. Monday at Kleine Field.
