The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team dropped a pair of contests over the weekend at the Lincoln Classic, losing to Lincoln Land 60-52 on Friday and the host Lynx 76-61 on Saturday.

The Chargers took a 42-41 into the fourth quarter Friday night against the Loggers but were unable to hang on. Sandburg got seven boards and five assists from freshman guard Katie Droste (Biggsville, Ill./West Central) and seven rebounds from Alivia Cummings (Peoria, Ill./Limestone). Jordan Price (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) had seven point and six boards, while Abby Masterson (Bradford, Ill./Stark County) scored five and pulled in six rebounds.

Masterson scored 10 points in Saturday’s loss to Lincoln for her first career double-digit effort while shooting 4 of 7 from the field. Danayzia Stuckey (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) chipped in nine points, and Price had eight points and seven rebounds. Droste finished with seven points, five rebounds and three assists off the bench for the Chargers (1-7).
