Madison (Wis.) snapped the Carl Sandburg College softball team’s seven-game winning streak Sunday, sweeping the Chargers 12-2 and 4-2 in a nonconference doubleheader at the William “Bill” Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex.

Already ahead 2-0, the Wolfpack doubled their lead with a pair of two-out runs in the fourth on a base hit and an error that plated a run.

Leadoff batter Haley Stevenson (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) drew a walk, stole a base and scored both runs for the Chargers.

Key Moment
The Chargers took a 1-0 lead into the fourth and retired the first two batters of the inning before Madison struck for three runs on four consecutive hits — back-to-back singles, an RBI double and a two-run base hit — to go ahead.
Sandburg Star of the Game
Third baseman Sarah Lindsay was the only Charger with multiple hits, going 2 for 3. Her RBI single to left in the fifth pulled Sandburg to within 3-2.
