The Carl Sandburg College softball team opened its Arrowhead Conference season with a sweep at Kishwaukee on Thursday, winning 7-3 and 12-0.

Benge was a beast at the plate and in the circle. In addition to her home run, she also drew a bases-loaded walk in the third and fired a two-hit shutout. The sophomore struck out two and threw 39 of her 48 pitches for strikes.
