Balanced Chargers Pick Up Win at Loras JV

The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team had five players score in double figures Saturday as it picked up a 74-56 victory at Loras JV.
Madison Lowe (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap) led a balanced scoring attack for the Chargers with a team-leading 13 points. Danayzia Stuckey (Peoria, Ill./Limestone), Alivia Cummings (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) and Willow Porter (Wyoming, Ill./Stark County) each added 11 points for Sandburg, and Jordan Price (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) tallied 10 for the Chargers (10-12), who picked up their second straight victory.
Sandburg trailed 22-17 after a quarter and led by just two at halftime, 36-34. The Chargers, though, outscored the Duhawks 20-9 in the third to extend their lead to 56-43. Lowe had seven of her points come in the third.
Sandburg’s next contest is 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Sauk Valley in an Arrowhead Conference matchup.
