FAQs
Are the requirements for the AA and AS degrees different?
Both degrees are 61 credit hours but the AS degree has additional math and science requirements. AA degree completion also fulfills the lower division general education courses of most transfer schools.
Check with your Sandburg advisor to determine if the AA or AS best meets your transfer goals.
How can I tell if my courses will transfer?
You can check out the transfer course and equivalencies page. You can also check Transferology.
When should I apply to my transfers school?
Apply up to one year in advance of when you plan to transfer. Most colleges and universities have application deadlines by which the admission application and all supporting documents must be submitted. Some colleges and universities allow students to apply as late as two to four weeks before the start of the term. Also check when your transfer school needs your financial aid application. Apply early for the best chance of receiving all aid available to you.
