Getting Started

To start exercising at Sandburg, you must fill out a Personal Profile at the fitness center front desk and be given an orientation. If you would like to receive college credit for exercising you may sign up for Physical Fitness. If you are not a student and would like to use the facilities you may sign up for Continuing Fitness I, the non-credited course. You can register online, over the phone, in Student Services, or at The Fitness Center. All first-time members must attend an orientation. The orientation is intended to acquaint members with the policies and procedures of the facility and to discuss personal goals and health history. The personalized orientation session is also designed to educate new members on the proper use of the equipment and to establish an exercise program based on individual needs. Once an orientation session is completed, members are entitled to use all of the cardiovascular equipment, strength machines, free weights, and locker room facilities with showers. The Fitness Center also offers other services such as blood pressure, body fat analysis, flexibility, and muscular strength and endurance testing.

**The Personal Profile must be filled out to use the facilities.
